Wheww! As part of the relay commitee, a very small commitee, I'm happy to say that we have concluded another year. This year was quite stressful since we lost a lot of teams, participants, sponsors, commitee members and so on. They even tried to convince my sister to be chair person, but she wisely declined.
Michelle and I were in charge of the survivor dinner which I thought went really well. It was very touching to hear every one's stories. Then we started walking, and after a half hour or so, the wind and rain blew in, nocking down tents and everything in it's path. Most everyone left, and some retreated into the gym. After a few hours we held our luminaria ceremony and then Michelle and I and our loyal spouses and team mates, took our leave. I think a few people tried to stay all night and walk, but with the rain and everything we were done.
So here's to another year. I don't know what we will be doing for Relay next year, but I think this is my last big project before the baby comes. What a relief!
